Copano Bay Secret Reefs Map & DVD
Copano Bay Secret Reefs Map & DVD
The Copano Bay Secret Reefs Map & DVD provides anglers with a map containing over 47 UNCHARTED REEFS that have been plotted on the Aransas County Clerks Map of Copano Bay showing each 640 Section making up Copano Bay.
Each Reef is logged by Section No. - Reef No. which Reef 74-1 would be Section 74, Reef 1 with a description of:
1) Section # - Reef #
2) Old Well No.
3) Long./Lat.
4) Bottom Depth in Ft.
5) Comment: Hard shell, mud & shell, crown of reef, etc.
The result is that you can fish reefs that are in close proximity to where you are catching fish or are just starting to look for them, ... instead of wasting gas and precious time going to only a few large reefs 5 miles apart on the standard fishing maps of Copano Bay that 100's of anglers and fishing guides already know about.
Some of these "secret" reefs are as small as a baseball field with only enough room for boat or two so you will have many of these reefs to fish by yourself.
Put a school of 100+ trout on a large 1 -3 mile reef located on most fishing maps of Copano Bay - like Shellbank Reef, Copano Reef or Lap Reef and you will have more territory to find them and you will be sharing them with your local fishing guides and rec anglers.
Put a school of 100+ trout on one of the small baseball field sized "secret reefs" and you will have easy limits as you cull your trout.
COPANO BAY MAP - INFO:
Copano Bay Secret Reefs Map was the result of two Fishing Guides who represent over 100 years of fishing experience on Copano Bay, whose family built the 3rd house in Copano Village in 1928 and were fishing Copano Bay before the 1920's and have ever since.
Capt. Rex Hoyt, the Inventor of the nationally popular, productive and Patented Rockport Rattler jighead in 2003 and Founder of Trout Sout Guide Service (1994- 2005), his Father Capt. Fred Hoyt and their forefathers had been fishing the many Oil & Gas Wells prevelant during the 1940's - 1970's in Copano Bay because they had live oyster shell pads built around them for support, which as a result, attracted large schools of baitfish and trout.
The map has each secret reef highlighted in red in Copano Bay on it with along with the ouline of each 640 Section on one side and the other side is the inside info on each reef. No folding or unfolding - quick and easy to access and to use.
Over 100 of these wells and platforms were pulled and plugged in the late 1970's, 80's and 90's, but the shell pads were still there - in some cases, not all - if you could find them. Capt. Rex and Capt. Fred spent 4 years from 1999 - 2003 searching for and locating these old well locations from GPS Weigh Points and the Section No. from each wells respective Oil & Gas Drilling Permit filed at the Texas Railroad Commission.
The result after searching over 100 locations during 1999 - 2003 was over 47 reefs were found that had not silted in and were still live oyster reefs holding bait and/or game fish
EACH MAP IS 8.5" X 10" LAMINATED, WATERPROOF, CAN FIT IN YOUR TACKLE BOX and WILL LAST YOU AND YOUR FAMILY GENERATIONS.
